  • Do I have to pay for the first meeting?

    The first meeting is free of charge. Its purpose is for us to understand your situation so we can prepare a quotation for you. Chargeable services begin upon agreement on the scope of services and associated charges.

  • Where will the first meeting be held?

    Generally, the first meeting is held in our office or online.

  • What languages does AWI Tax Consulting support?

    Japanese and English.

  • Can I request the tax advisory service only?

    Yes, you can.

  • I can take care of the bookkeeping; can I ask AWI to work on tax returns only?

    Yes, you can.

  • Does AWI support Japanese domestic companies (not foreign-affiliated companies)?

    Yes, AWI supports Japanese domestic companies, although our main focus is on services for foreign-affiliated companies. We also serve a few Japanese domestic large companies.
    Additionally, we provide support for Foreign Dividend Exclusion, Foreign Tax Credit, R&D Tax Credit, and Controlled Foreign Company rule, which are often applied to Japanese domestic large companies.

  • Is AWI capable of supporting Corporate Reorganization Taxation?

    Yes, we are. We provide advice on Corporate Reorganization Taxation, such as "Determination of qualified/non-qualified reorganization", "Restrictions on transferring and using Net Operating Loss" and "Restriction on deductibility for built-in loss of specified assets." We also prepare tax returns required in case of Corporate Reorganization.

  • Is AWI capable of supporting Japanese Group Relief?

    We are afraid we do not support Japanese Group Relief applied to the parent company in the group, but we can prepare tax returns of the subsidiaries in the group.

  • Is AWI capable of supporting stock valuation?

    While we do not directly provide stock valuation services, we can introduce accountants who can support such needs.

  • Is AWI capable of supporting customs duty?

    While we do not support customs duty, we can introduce specialists who can support such needs.
